Klondike Adventures is a management simulation game where players run their own adventure blocks, recruit warriors, collect resources, unlock new buildings, and communicate with other players to create their own adventure kingdom. Players can build farms here, explore the wonderful wilderness, create the farm life of your dreams, and bring you a new adventure game experience.

Interface

Use the gear icon on the top-right (below the coin and emerald counters) to access the Settings screen. While viewing this menu:

Tap on the globe icon in the bottom-right corner to change the language of the game.

Check the box next to “Emerald spend confirmation” to get a “Yes / No” dialog box every time you are about to perform an action which would cost emeralds (the premium currency of Klondike Adventures).

Sign in using your e-mail or Facebook account on the Community tab. (Apparently needed to save your progress in the game.)

Tapping on the arrow icon next to the gear icon will reveal some other buttons, one of which, the blue tree icon will make large objects in the game world look like cut down to their bases, revealing objects behind them.

The envelope icon will bring up a list of tips, usually newer features of the game. Open these to reveal some small gifts.

Clearing / Gathering resources

Hold your finger / mouse button pressed on an object to see what kind of resource it yields and how much durability it has.

You don’t need to have more energy than an object's total durability if you want to clear it. Instead damage it partially, then return when you gain more energy to completely remove it. However you won’t receive some of the more valuable resources until it is fully destroyed.

Balloons with dynamites

To use the dynamites carried around by balloons, first move your characters next to the object you want to damage. Tap on the balloons or the NPC (Larry) next to them and watch the advertisement. When it finishes, a single dynamite will be carried by a balloon to the location of your characters. Your characters won’t get hurt in the explosion. This method is imprecise though and the dynamite might land on any of the surrounding objects instead of the one you’re standing next to.

Building

When placing small purchasable objects (feeders, fences), trying to drag them may result in you scrolling around the map instead (experienced on Android emulators). Tap on an empty area and then drag the object to the desired location to counter this problem.

Production

Cancelling ongoing or scheduled productions in workshops is impossible and the developers don’t intend to add such a feature.

One tap on the ‘Golden Gear’ button to hasten production will use either as many Gears as it takes to finish production or as many as you have.

Sweet Shop

Swipe over the board and every piece of sweets will move into the direction of your swipe, until they hit the side of the board or another item. You can’t control only one item at a time.

It may seem like a simple solution to amass every sweet on one side of the board and combine them there, however this may take too long to reach the maximum reward. You may have to use a few steps to combine several pairs at once and leave rearranging the pieces to luck. Alternate between focusing on combining the high-tier sweets and the low tier ones. If you ignore the low tier items, the board will become too crowded for the high-tier ones to reach one another.

Marina/Ship orders

If you want to refresh the order (similar to the trash button on the order board), press the ‘Delivery’ button to send the ship away. It will work whether the ship is fully loaded or not. The cooldown is the same, 5 hours (unless you accelerate with the premium wheel).

If you quit the game while the ship is away from the Marina, it will not arrive until you log in again (even if more than 5 hours in real time have elapsed). So ideally, whenever you plan to be absent from game for a while, send it away (using the method described above) before logging out. This way you will have the full 15 hours to work on a new order when you resume your session.

Klondike Adventures tips and tricks

Buildings

Buy buildings in the order as their quests appear and the order they become unlocked. Trying to skip steps will cause difficulties later:

High-tier housing for workers will require diverse resources you might not be able to produce yet (ex: the Apartments requires that you build a Factory and a Glassblowers first)

High-tier factories will need many workers, therefore you’ll be unable to produce much else while one of these is operating

Also, by the time you’ll have both a Factory and a Glassblowers, you will probably feel the need to build a second Dairy, Sawmill and/or Quarry.

Energy

If you gain more energy than the maximum of your Energy Bar, use it up as soon as possible, otherwise energy points you would get automatically won't be given. This usually happens when you level up or complete an order at the Marina. Complete the mini-game from the Sweet Shop as soon as it becomes available, so it's countdown could restart.

You will sometimes get help during periodic events in the form of energy costs (for clearing objects) going down by 25-35% for 10 to 30 minutes. Once these bonus periods begin, their timers will keep running even if you quit the game or encounter a dialog cutscene. Try keeping energy boosting items (chocolate bar, apples) and dry ice for such occasions. Also, you might decide it's more profitable to stop advancing in the event and risk running into cutscenes and instead complete secondary tasks or gather resources.

If you quickly need an energy boost:

Keep using Hourglasses on a single cow, instead of spending a lot of them on all your cows

If you only have Fertilizers but not Hourglasses, you may use them to quickly complete some orders, gather money and buy cows. You will still have to wait for them to die.

Balloons with dynamites

The balloons with dynamites might appear more than once a day (depending on how many third party services want to get advertised via Klondike at a certain time), so don't worry about using them as soon as they arrive. However it might be useful to postpone using them if you have just begun playing a map or the balloons appear on a map you currently don't want to play. It might leave and reappear soon on a map where you do want to use it.

Since they often miss their target, they might be more useful at uncovering one certain object, if you are able to approach it from more than one direction (ex: a quest item), than targeting something directly.

Resources / Materials

At low levels you will probably not be able to gather enough resources. Even 500 stones can be used up during an event focused on delivery orders.

Don’t use wood to make fire if you can spare it. There are occasions when you will need lots of dry twigs and logs (ex: some quests need 90, more than once).

Keep some of each currency - energy items, money (or gold bars), emeralds, Nature’s Gifts - for emergency situations. At level 20, consider keeping 5000 coins and 70 Nature’s Gifts in reserves.

Use factories outside Home Station as often as possible to process your resources. They will take some load off your workers. Remember to use them every time you visit the place or switch to the world map. (Early example: the windmill at Wind’s Song)

Produce short-time crops and materials first so you wouldn’t have to wait for workers to free up from doing long productions

Keep processing raw materials. Produce a few batches of short-time resources every time you log in (ex: rye, water, gravel)

Produce slow-growing surplus crops at night (ex: cotton, corn)

If you will soon need both quartz and iron, mine quartz first, because processing it takes more time than the cooling times of the foundry.

Emeralds

The best way to spend emeralds is by buying objects that will remain in your game permanently. These are the premium farm buildings (hothouses, heated garden beds), the premium housing (inn, hotel), extra production slots for factories and some decorations which increase the prestige level of Gabriela's Park.

The most important resources are energy and money. More natural resources can be obtained if you have more of the former. Invest emeralds in ways that increase money or energy gains.
