June's Journey Game evaluation

I love this game more than any other I've played. But, unless I'm missing something, it insists you spend money. I haven't been able to play for a week now. And I've perfectly completed the previous levels. I even did other things it told me to do to proceed to next level. Like use my points to furnish my island. Still won't let me advance to next level. After they sent me notifications I'd earned the next level. But they continue to show me things I can pay money for. I thought this was free.

 I've been playing for years, but the game has been freezing the last few months. App closes. Today, I was playing the mini game with 44 levels. Was on 44, and the game froze and closed. When I reopened, it put me back on 32 or 33. Lost the progress for that section. Forcing me to replay 11 levels. Not happy. It's April now, and I spend more time reloading the game than playing it. Freezes constantly and hardly get to play anymore because of it. It's not my tablet or connection.
