How to connect an Android Auto to a car

Ensure car compatibility. Users need to confirm that the car's infotainment system supports Android Auto, and some new models may already have Android Auto pre installed.

Download and install the Android Auto app. Search and download the "Android Auto" app in the Google Play store on your phone.

Connect your phone to the vehicle. Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the USB port of your car, usually labeled as "Smartphone" or "Android Auto". Before connecting, ensure that the phone is unlocked for authorization on the car display.

Agree to application permissions and set preferences. After connecting the phone, a message may appear on the screen requesting the user to agree to Android Auto access the phone's applications and data. After agreeing, you can set some preferences, such as voice assistants, navigation applications, etc.

Enable Android Auto on the car display screen. Find the Android Auto option in the vehicle's infotainment system, usually in the main menu or connected device options. After selecting the Android Auto option, the system will start connecting and display the Android Auto interface on the display screen.

Use Android Auto. After successful connection, you can see the interface of Android Auto on the car display screen. Access applications, navigation, music, phone, and other functions by touching the screen, voice control, or physical buttons on the vehicle.

Disconnect. After use, you can exit the Android Auto interface on the car screen, disconnect the USB data cable, and remove the phone.
